It’s crystal clear that when sexual urges arise within us, we end up looking for quick solutions to get rid of them. Nonetheless, those solutions of ours won't last for long, because it is impossible to control sexual urge via an abrupt fix.
It needs a meticulous understanding, inner calmness, a bunch of patience and a rigorous commitment.
On this note, I welcome you to today's edition and final gist on the subject matter. Let's go as I unveil what I've got for you. You definitely will love it.
YOUR THOUGHTS
The brain publishes the hormones that control sexual urges. Did You know?
So training your mind to quickly diffuse sexual thoughts that come into your mind is key. This is where self-awareness plays a vital role as it is only when you recognize your thoughts are gliding to sex issues that you can be able to draw away...
Altogether, don't whip yourself up for thinking about sex; it's natural - See - FORMED THIS WAY - but you must not allow it control you. You've gotta engage your mind on productive things than sex for such thoughts to disappear. This comes with practice (as you know that practice makes perfection). The more you give in to this practice, the more susceptible you become when those thoughts invade your mind. - ”Be a master of your thoughts.”
BE WORDED
”But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” Rom 13:14.
Funny enough, sexual thoughts don't fear whether you are reading the Bible, or you are in the church and your pastor is preaching, they just crawl into your mind at will. Sounds somehow right? Na so e be - the matter tie wrapper! (on a lighter note).
This is the more reason you should be equipped with the word of God to scatter those thoughts. - ”We are transformed by the renewing of our minds.” Rom 12:2 (that's God's word). I plead that you spend quality time with the word. The sufficient intake of the word daily determines how nourished and healthy your mind will be.
And David the man after God's own heart said; ”The word of the Lord have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.” That's a man with an understanding of God's word and who has equipped and soaked himself with the word. You too can be like David!
The word of God has the capacity to flush out that tommyrot images in the course of your day to day activity. As you consistently come before the word that your mind will be moistened and refilled with God's thoughts. - ”Be equipped with the word.”
ALCOHOL & DRUGS
If you are looking to divert your attention from sex urges, then a bottle of your favourite liquor won't give you the peace you need. Little quantity of alcohol can boost your sexual urge and alcohol contains ethanol that precipitates the hypothalamus - this is a part of the brain that is responsible for regulating hunger, hormone levels, body temperature, and our dear, libido.
You see why you don't need alcohol no matter how small it may seem because it can aggravate sexual urges. Research has it that specific scents stimulate sex urges and bizarrely enough, most of these scents are found in wine. - ”Wine is an aphrodisiac - avoid it.”
Wow, what a topic! I trust with the effective application of these 7steps to CONTROL YOUR SEXUAL URGE as we come to the end of this series.

A highly topical discuss! It's easier said than done: 1st,we agree it's natural n can be triggered off anytime. U can control it some of the times but not all of the times so I agree it should be well thought out and not spontaneous. Supposing one is in a marriage where either party for one reason or the other is denies the other party of sex what will happen? 2nd, David as quoted couldn't stand it hence he went after Uriah's wife which is wrong. God punished him not for that action but but plotting and killing Uriah in the process.
ReplyDeleteSex was made for marriage and couples shouldn't deny each other of the pleasure thereof. Understanding plays a vital role in the case of when either of the party is not in the mood...
DeleteAnd David, as quoted, was just an illustration of how grounded we should be with the word.
I hope this brings a better understanding...
Thanks a bunch for taking out the time to reading and sharing your thoughts.
Your point of view is really ideal but the fact that David as quoted could not control his doesn’t give it the norm or rather the reasoning behind the normal act of when you can control it you like wise let loose. For David it was not am urge it was his want so personally I don’t agree with your example. But like I said your view is indeed ideal which could be bought .. but not a good example because it doesn’t support your argument.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Thanks, dear.

ReplyDeleteWeldone. Sex is good. Urge is good. If all done under the right circumstances.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Thanks, Sir.
DeleteNice write up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear.
DeleteInteresting topic about sexual urge which is a natural phenomenon. However, it is meant to be enjoyed between 2 consenting adults, usually married couples. It should be mutually beneficial to both partners. Self control and tolerance are very vital. Romance and foreplay are necessary considerations. Love is caring, sharing and giving. Thank you and God bless you Tracey.
ReplyDeleteI concur! Thanks a bunch, Sir. I really do appreciate.
